Lalala Project.
서울대 조경학과에 '랄랄라lalala' 라는 학회가 있었다.
조경가들에 대해서 조사를 하고 발표를 하고 하는 생명이 짧은 학회였는데,
그 곳에서 마샤 스왈츠에 대해 이야기를 나누다가 생긴 프로젝트 이야기이다.
Martha Schwartz, born 1950, is an American landscape architect. Her background is in the fine arts as well as landscape architecture, and her projects range from private to urban scale. She studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and graduated from the University of Michigan . Schwartz currently has firms in Cambridge, Massachusetts and London. She was married to landscape architect Peter Walker (architect).
Having had over 30 years of experience as a landscape architect and artist, she has received a number of highly regarded awards and prizes including the Cooper-Hewitt Museum National Design Award for her body of work in Landscape Architecture, an honorary fellowship from RIBA, several design awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, and visiting residencies at Radcliffe College and the American Academy in Rome, although accolades in the art world continue to evade her work.
피터워커와 결혼한 마샤의 작품들은 재기발랄하다.
어떻게 보면 약간 공간 지배적이긴 하지만, 독특하고 창의적이다.
그 중에서 우리들 눈에 관심을 끈 작품은 아래와 같다.
이거였다.
공간 디자인에 대한 꽉 막힌 생각을 열게 해준 것이!!
그래서 우리는 랄랄라 프로젝트를 진행하게 되었다.
- 저예산.
- 단기간 조성.
- 많은 사람들을 행복하게 해주자.

이런 조건을 달고 우리는 아이디어를 구상하기 시작했고,
저예산은 재료를 노란색 풍선, 흰 자갈, 헬륨가스, 낚시줄로 한정했고-
단기간은 하룻밤만에 조성
많은 사람들은 서울대학교 구성원으로서 사람들이 가장 많이 다니는 중앙도서관과 학관 사이의 계단이 되었다.
다음은 야경- 헬륨가스가 입자가 작아서 그런지, 오후만 되어도 풍선들이 힘이 없어서 누워버렸다...
